The Track and Field season begins March 2nd, and we are looking for volunteers. Please take a moment to give this a read if you can.
Ingraham has a lot of great kids and awesome sporting opportunities, and perhaps one of the single “biggest tent” activities among them in the Spring may be Track and Field. We have a large number of events with a wide and varied set of skill requirements, from Jumping and Throwing, to Sprinting, and Distance Running. It requires the work of quite a few people to help make all of these things run (pun intended) smoothly.
If you are interested in spending time with our large, vibrant, and fun group of kids, we have a number of different opportunities for you! If you have some time available, and the willingness to contribute, we have needs across a variety of roles, from coaching to volunteering during the meets. Meets are usually on Thursdays.
These needs are so broad, in fact, that even if you only have a small amount of time to help, there’s still a high likelihood that you could be of assistance in a very impactful way. Just get in touch, we can chat, and figure something out.
Contact email@example.com to drop me, (Bob Swift, Coach) a line, or you can call me at 206.819.7049.
Thank you so much for your consideration! Go Rams!
The Track and Field Season came to a terrific conclusion Sat, May 25th, when Anya Hirschfeld, two days after her THIRD place finish in the 1600, and mere hours after prom, finished SECOND in the 800 meter race. A terrific showing!
Also competing in the State Meet this year were Nola Farrell (11th in the Triple Jump, in her second trip to the meet!) and Sam Orth (16th in the 1600, capping off a terrific senior season!)
We are super proud of all the kids. GO RAMS!
36 athletes represented Ingraham at Metros--several qualifying in multiple events--with a vigorous cheering section in the stands! Success at Metros brought out some gritty performances at Districts from Nathalie Shoji, Kali Davis, Rodrick Nichols, Blake Yasui, and Nash Pearson, with Charlie Orth (800m, 4x400 relay), Diandre Morfin (Long Jump, 4x400 relay), Gabby Hubble (100m hurdles), and Sam Levy (4x400 relay) making it through to District Finals.
Qualifying for the State Championships, were Nola Farrell (4th in the Triple Jump) , Sam Orth (2nd in the 1600m), and Anya Hirschfeld--District champion in both the 1600m and 800m!!
Thanks to all track coaches and parents, school staff who have supported all the track meets held this spring at Ingraham!
Our goal is $7,000! We have raised $6,200 so far!
It’s easy to donate by Visa or Mastercard here: https://iabc.sportngin.com/register/form/611956159
**Please consider also sending the link to your family and friends! **
And, be sure and apply for Corporate Matching funds if you are able to maximize your donation!
Dear Track Families & Friends,
PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION of $65 or MORE to support our Track & Field Athletes!!
Our coaches estimate that we need an additional $7,000 to cover these expenses for the 2018 season:
If you'd prefer to donate by cash or check:
Checks should be payable to IABC (please put “Track” on the Memo line). Cash and check donations can be given to the Coaches or sent to: IHS – Track, 1819 N. 135th St, Seattle, WA 98133
The Ingraham Athletic Booster Club (IABC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit and your donations are tax-deductible. 100% of your money goes to the team (minus processing fees for credit card donations).
We are encouraging EVERY athlete to raise at least $65. Unfortunately, the district provides very little funding, basically enough to cover the facilities, buses, and small stipends for head coaches only. It is up to our parent community to raise the additional money it takes to run a successful Track program. Please donate what you can and encourage your friends and family to also support Rams Track!
A huge THANK YOU on behalf of our wonderful team of jumpers, sprinters, throwers, distance runners, hurdlers, and all of Rams Track and Field!
In gratitude for your continued support,
Your Coaches and Parent Supporters
